June 3, 2018                Remember

We live in a world that WANTS to separate us from God and our faith in Him.  Rarely are we more vulnerable than when we make major life changes.  Changes like graduating and moving to a bigger school, more people, more ideas, more opportunities to expand our minds and more opportunities to sin and mess our lives up.

We need to remember

Ecclesiastes 12:1 – 8  “Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”; before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars are darkened and the clouds return after the rain,  in the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, …….., and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.  Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity.”

Remember God before the wiles and weirdness of the world poison your mind and heart.

Life happens.  Bad stuff will happen.  People can be AWFUL!  Always remember God in those dark times.

Live in His Light, allow Him to drive away the darkness that will try to pull you into its dark, evil grasp.

Remember God before when you feel like the Joy of life is being sucked out of you and you are feeling empty, alone and lose the beauty of the life God has given you.

Remember God and commit your life to Him through faith.  They key to eternity lies in God.  Scripture teaches us that we are saved by GRACE alone, through FAITH alone, in CHRIST alone and that we can ONLY  reach the Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

That is how our spirit returns to God who gave it.

Isaiah 46: 8 – 11  “Do not forget this! Keep it in mind!  Remember this, you guilty ones.   Remember the things I have done in the past.  For I alone am God!  I am God, and there is none like me.   Only I can tell you the future before it even happens.  Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.   I will call a swift bird of prey from the east— a leader from a distant land to come and do my bidding.  I have said what I would do, and I will do it.

Remember you need a Savior!          You are GUILTY

Remember everything God has done

Remember that God is SOVERIGN God.  He IS IN control

Remember He will do exactly what He has said

Hebrews 13:7-9 Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.   Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.”

Remember those who have taught you the word

Remember their lives and how they lived their lives for God

Seek to be like them!

Do not be drawn away by strange, new ideas.

Stay the course of FAITH

Deuteronomy 8:18 Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.”

Remember the Lord!

God is the one that measures the success of a person.

God is the one who gifts, empowers and uses a person and makes them successful!
