Genesis 2:20-25 “The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him. So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.  And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.  Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”  Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.  And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.”  ESV

  • Is Gay Marriage a threat to marriage?
    • No.  No, not a major threat anyway.  There are much bigger threats to traditional marriage in our world today
    • The LGBTQ community is a very small percentage of America.
      • Most numbers I can find say they are less than 5%
    • Even if gay marriage was strictly forbidden and illegal in all 50 states it would have little to no effect on people being gay and building relationships and lives together.
      • This has been happening for thousands of years.
      • We have survived just fine
  • What are bigger threats to Marriage?
    • Unbelief
    • Different faiths
    • Neglected Faith
      • Priorities
      • Goals
      • Desires
    • Adultery
    • Addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc)
    • Lack of Communication
    • Busy-ness
      • Work
      • Hobbies
      • Activities
    • Pornography
    • Idolatry
    • Money
    • Divorce
      • Especially the “no fault” divorce
      • Divorce is to easy
    • Pride
    • Arrogance
    • Hate
    • Youth/Unprepared for marriage
    • Facebook (Social Media)
      • These are all bigger threats to Marriage
      • Alternatives to Marriage becoming more and more acceptable
        • Divorce
        • Living together
        • Alternative lifestyles
        • These are the bigger issues threatening traditional marriage today
        • AND: These are issues that will plague the gay community now that they are eligible for marriage.
          • May be a case of the grass is not always greener on the other side
            • One thing for sure…they will not have the “It’s illegal” excuse to stay away from COMMITMENT
            • Marriage can be tough.
  • How should the Christian Community face the LGBTQ community
    • With love
    • With tolerance….  Maybe not approval, but with tolerance.
      • In reality our “Stamp of Approval” is not required
    • The Biblical truth should be brought with the Love of God
    • We should be a conduit to redemption for all
      • Not a check valve for exclusion.
    • Our compassion and ministry should be no different for the LGBTQ than for any other sinner.
    • God said to love people
      • He gave NO EXCEPTIONS
    • One thing we MUST do is preach the entire counsel of God’s Word.
      • We cannot back away in fear
      • We cannot use Gods Word as a tool to beat down
      • We must speak the truth in Love and be prepared to defend our faith
  • We must refrain from using God’s Word as a tool to beat people down.
    • The term “bully pulpit” does not apply to churches!
      • Pastors are not politicians or bullies using our position to bend others to our point of view.
      • We are God’s Preachers bringing His Word to bear on the hearts and issues of our community and beyond.
        • We bring God’s Will, not ours.
        • God’s Word is sufficient.
        • God’s Word has the Power and Authority, not the preachers.
  • One thing we MUST be prepared to do is to listen, encourage and guide those who seek our ministry as they deal with these issues in their own life.
  • Our ministry should be seasoned with salt not Jalapeno peppers
    • We should be seeking to minister and care for sinners
    • We should not be about the business of burning them
    • Expose them to truth
      • Just as we all need exposed to the truth
    • Love God and Love our neighbors
    • Deal with our OWN MESS before we point at the mess of others
    • Remember that we are all sinners
    • Christians are called to be SALT and LIGHT
      • Not religious bullies like the Sadducees and Pharisees
        • The Temple Elite/legalistic Religious zealots
        • The ones Jesus called a “Brood of Vipers”
      • Salt that preserves the Biblical Truths while creating a thirst for the Gospel
      • Light that draws people out of darkness
  • One thing we MUST do is promote and model TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE
    • Teach Biblical Marriage
    • Bring God’s Word to bear on traditional marriage
    • Seek to strengthen and promote Biblical marriage
    • Help and minister to those struggling with marriage.
    • Seek to encourage and build Covenant Marriages
  • Brings us back around to our main text today
    • God knew that Man NEEDED Woman
      • This planet would be a DISASTER without women
      • Men would either have it all torn apart and refuse to read the instructions to reassemble  OR
      • NOTHING would ever get done!
      • God cause a deep sleep to fall upon Adam
        • Want to know why the men fall asleep in their chair when their wife is around?
        • Marriage is one man joined to one woman by God Almighty for one lifetime.
        • Man should leave their Mother and Father
          • Hard fort a “Mommy’s Boy” to do!
          • Wives – THIS IS WHY YOUR HUSBAND ACTS LIKE A CHILD SOMETIMES!
          • They are ONE FLESH
            • Separation SHOULD HURT
            • Created to fit together in God’s Perfection

The Covenant Marriage Vow

Believing that marriage is a covenant intended by God to be a lifelong fruitful relationship between a man and a woman, we vow to God, each other, our families, and our community to remain steadfast in unconditional love, reconciliation, and sexual purity, while purposefully growing in our covenant marriage relationship.

Message 1       July 12, 2015

Many are expressing outrage at the Supreme Court decision concerning “Gay Marriage”…and maybe rightly so.

But the homosexual community is not a new thing, and neither are gay couples living together in relationships.

No. We are not surprised or shocked a single bit by the Gay Community – we have made an uneasy peace with that reality. TOLERANCE

What we are upset about is the Supreme Court basically making new law and changing the long held American Culture and traditions.

They changed what marriage is in America despite the will of the people as shown in elections.  California voted to ban gay marriage – twice.  California…as have several other States.

In Texas it is a constitutional amendment.  Just a few years ago 40 states had either constitutional amendments or laws against gay marriage; then the courts got involved and today there are ZERO.

This is the Court making law and preforming social engineering.

This is not surprising.

Am I surprised that a secular court looked beyond the will of the people, the Constitution and chose the path of activism?  No.  They violated the Word of God and the Words of our Countries Founding.

BUT, LETS BE REAL HERE:  We violate the Word of God on a regular basis.  We are all sinners.  Yes, even the Dark robed men and women of the Supreme Court are sinners and completely capable of error.  They are human after all.

Romans 3:21-31 “…..For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith….. For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one….” ESV

Am I surprised by the Supreme Court ruling?

  • No
  • The Court has shown a bend towards the will of the loud minority in the past and with an ideologically split court I am not surprised.
  • Basically 1 or 2 judges are making country changing decisions

Should the court bow to religion?

  • No
  • The Court is to interpret and apply the Constitution and the laws on our Country.
    • Not the Bible
  • The Court is neither a church nor a theological institution
  • Remember this: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—“   ?
    • In American they apply to everyone
      • This is a secular reality
    • So do we obey the Court or do we obey God?
      • Both where possible
        • Most laws are easy for a Christian to obey because they are based on Biblical principles.
      • God alone where necessary
      • Acts 5:27 – 32 “And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them,saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”  But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree.  God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.  And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

Is homosexuality a sin?

  • Yes
  • Old Testament and New Testament

Is “Gay Marriage” a sin?

  • Yes
  • Old Testament and New Testament
  • God very clearly set aside marriage as between a MAN AND A WOMAN.
    • Procreation is very important to God
    • God designed what parts are to fit together for His desired result.

Is “gay marriage’ or homosexuality a “specialty sin?”

  • No
  • They are sinners in the need of grace
    • just like the rest of us
  • Yes, heterosexual marriages are between two sinners as well.

Is “Gay Marriage” The worst sin?

  • No
  • Sin is Sin
  • The only eternal sin is the sin of denying God and unbelief
  • I do find it interesting that homosexuality, which is identified as sin throughout the Word, did not make God’s “top 10” list
    • The 10 Commandments do not contain this “Thou Shalt not…”

Is this the end of the world and we should all panic and flee into the mountains and live in Christian Communes completely cut off from the rest of the world and wait for the rapture?

  • NO!   God is still God
  • God is still Sovereign God
  • God is in control
  • He still loves us
    • Yes, even those who are not like us
  • His Son still paid the price for the sins of everyone who would believe
  • God is still very much at work through all of this time
  • We are to continue to be His children
    • Walking the right walk
    • Talking the right talk
    • Sharing His love
  • We DO NOT allow this distraction take our eyes of the Cross hairs of Mt. Calvary!
  • We DO NOT allow this decision to CAUSE US TO SIN and fail our Savior!
  • We do keep doing what we have been doing
    • There is way more God has expected us to do
    • Now is not the time for fear, but for faith
    • Now is not the time for apathy, but assembly
    • Now is not the time for anything except going forward in faith

Now is not the time to RUN AND HIDE in a RELIGIOUS COCOON!

  • We do not need to stick our heads in the sands!
    • WE HAVE DONE THAT FAR TOO LONG!
  • The reality is that one of the MAIN REASONS WE ARE WHERE WE ARE AT IS THAT CHRISTIANS HAVE BEEN CONTENT TO SIT BACK AND DO LITTLE OR NOTHING!
    • Where is the influence of FAITH in our Country?
    • Where are the voices for God?
    • Where are the prayers and the preachers?
  • Never has Gods Question to us rung so true and so URGENTLY: Isaiah 6:8-9 “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” And he said, “Go, and say to this people:”    ESV
  • Now is the time STAND FIRMLY BESIDE PAUL, TIMOTHY, DANIEL, DAVID and JOHN and shout to the WORLD that “…I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”   Romans 1:16-17

Message 4                               Unity in Diversity

I love America!  Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.  But, Sometimes I think America has lost its mind.

We have become a nation of 2 and three year olds.  Parents you remember that stage.  There are called the “Terrible Twos”

Everything is either “GIMME GIMME” or “YUCHY, YUCH” and pushed away.

We seem to have lost our ability to tolerate others opinions or beliefs, much less LOVE THEM!

If we are going to remain together as a UNION then we must regain our abilities to TOLERATE, COMMUNICATE and LOVE!

Remember this?: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.—“   ?

Our Constitutional rights guarantee we will be offended by STUFF!

It is unrealistic to think that EVERYTHING in our COUNTRY will be to our liking.

BUT, just because we do not like something does not mean it is YUCHY and must be removed from our presence.

If you do not like something don’t buy it, participate in it or support it.

I am a God fearing, Bible thumping, America loving, freedom promoting, Flag respecting, meat eating, 4 wheel driving, gun toting, military supporting, stand with Israel, Lone Star State living, hillbilly redneck, Constitution defending, Christian Conservative!

I am not the one your liberal friends warned you about because I LOVE YOU even if you are different, strange, weird…even AUSTIN WEIRD!

If you are not like me…OK…then you be you!  We do not have to be the same to be in harmony.

We need Good Sense in America Again!

We need COMMON SENSE in America Again!

We need GOD in America Again.

Proverbs 19:11 “Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.”  ESV

James 3:16-18 “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.  But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.  And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” ESV

Paul knew that living as Christians would be offensive to many, He preached anyway.

1 Corinthians 1:21-25 “For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”  ESV

Listen to this carefully:

Galatians 3:25-29 “But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”  ESV

Christ died to remove all of those things that separate and divide us.  Jesus gave His sinless life so we could become One Family, The Family of God.

The Blood stained ground of Mount Golgotha, the torn Temple Veil, and the empty hillside tomb create a LEVEL PLACE FOR ALL in Christ Jesus!

We are often encouraged to remember the BIG events of our country: 

  • Remember the Alamo
  • Pearl Harbor
  • 9-11

We sometimes remember the BIG events of the Bible

  • Creation
  • Daniel in the lion’s den
  • Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace
  • The Crucifixion
  • The resurrection

So often, when we as Christians face the issues of our day, we forget just exactly WHO God is and what He has promised.

We need to REMEMBER and NEVER FORGET who God is!

God is SOVERIGN GOD – He has SUPREME POWER AND AUTHORITY

Psalm 147:5  Awesome Power/What a mighty God we serve

Angels bow before him,

Heaven and earth adore Him

What a mighty God we serve.

Psalm 147:5 “How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!” 

  • Man’s Awesome Accomplishments
    • Taj Mahal
    • The Pyramid in Egypt
    • The Coliseum
    • Man on the moon and a 4 wheeler on mars
  • All Pale in contrast to Gods Awesome Accomplishments
    • All of the Stuff man uses for their great accomplishments
    • Niagara Falls and all the beauty of nature
    • The human brain and body
    • A newborn baby
    • And Maybe the most awesome:
      • A human that is born again
    • How great is our God?
      • His Strength is immeasurable
      • His Power is all encompassing
      • His Knowledge and understanding is total

Isaiah 40:12-15 “Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?  Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?  Has the Lord  ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good?  Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice? No, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. They are nothing more than dust on the scales.  He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.”  NLT

GOD IS BIGGER THAN THE BOOGYMAN

God knows and is present in all of these situations and issues.

God has promised to never leave or forsake His Children!

He LOVES YOU

You are not alone

Do Not FEAR

It’s all WEIRD but its all GOOD

We are CALLED to live by FAITH and not by SIGHT!

What we see is rotten

Faith is sweet Joy

Maybe today you have been trying to fix everything all by yourself and now you are just exhausted – physically, mentally and spiritually.

Maybe today you are trying to be all things to all people and are simply just burnt out.

Maybe today you need to lay all of your burdens down at the feet of the One who is Smart enough, Wise enough, Strong enough and WHO IS WILLING to take your burdens away and replace them with freedom and joy.

Psalm 147:5 “How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!” 

  • God understands what you are going through.
  • God has the power to bring real change that will last.
  • Great is our God!

Never forget the Power, Authority and Love of our Creator and Sustainer.

“Gay Marriage” ruling thoughts

This is a simple exercise for me to think about what the questions are and think through the issues.  I did this mainly for me but figured others may benefit from the process.  If you want to submit comments please feel free to do so at balderman@rgv.rr.com.

    4. They have twisted the Constitution to meet their agenda instead of changing their agenda to match the constitution.
  3. Should the court bow to religion?

    2. The Court is to interpret and apply the Constitution
      1. Not the Bible
    3. The Court is not a theological institution
  4. Should a “religious objector” to “Gay Marriage” be forced to perform a “Gay Wedding? (or provide a wedding service such as pictures, cakes, etc…)
    1. No
    2. The State should not force any person to violate their beliefs
    3. The 1st Amendment gives us freedom of speech and freedom of religion?
  5. Should the Tax Exempt status of churches be revoked?
    1. No…well not generally
    2. 1st Amendment
    3. Religious groups (and other501c3 groups) that act with hate in violation of other persons should be in jeopardy. (Westborough, radical Islam, etc)
  6. Can we have an America where no one can never be offended by something?
    1. No
    2. There is no Constitutional right against being offended
    3. In reality, several of the written Constitutional freedoms we are guaranteed also guarantee that we will be offended.
    4. If America is going to be a “melting pot” then there must be some heat from somewhere.
    5. We are a country of wildly varied people. We have different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, priorities, upbringings and priorities.
    6. The Constitution is there to UNITE us, not DIVIDE us.
      1. The Supreme Court has failed in this reality.
    7. Did the court get this right?
      1. No
      2. The 10th Amendment was ignored in order to meet their agenda.

          3. When God said marriage was between a man and a woman, there were homosexuals in existence.
          4. When Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding there were already homosexuals in existence.
        5. Is “Gay Marriage” New?
          1. Yes…pretty much
          2. Since Biblical times marriage has been recognized as the union of one man and one woman.
          3. The push for “Gay Marriage” is many years old
          4. Several states have approved “Gay Marriage” over the past few years
          5. Now the Supreme Court has rules that marriage is genderless.
        6. Are Homosexuals “Bad People?”
          1. Not
          2. Well no more than we may see in any people group anyway
          3. They are people and like people they are far from perfect and all of us have sinned, fallen short, made mistakes, blown it, etc.
        7. Are the majority of Americans in favor of Gay Marriage
          1. Debatable
          2. When brought to a vote “Gay Marriage” has been defeated – even in liberal strongholds like California…twice.
          3. The courts have reversed the will of the people.
            1. NOTE: The Court ruling really only applies to the States involved.  I think there were 4 or 5.  The rest could reject/ignore the ruling and no applicable to their state until litigated.  Most will not – but some may.
            2. NOTE: Also, the Supreme Court built in a 3-4 week waiting period for appeal or request to reconsider.  I would bet there will be many challenges.
          4. Voting measures the ideals of those voting,, not the entire population
            1. There are polls that show yes and that show no…by wildly varying margins.
              1. Polls are not really reliable because there are too many variables.
              2. Elections are the best info we have and they show the majority are not in favor of “Gay Marriage.”
            2. Is this the biggest issue Christians are facing today?
              1. No
              2. Church Health
              3. Sin in the Church
              4. Christian prosecution
              5. Biblical obedience
                1. These and more are bigger issues
              6. Why do religious folk seem to attack the LGBTQ community with such zeal?
                1. I don’t know but can make some “educated guesses”
                  1. There are no KNOWN LGBTQ in their religious communities
                    1. It is easy to attack who you do not see.
                  2. If they attacked gossips, drunks and adulterers with the same zeal their churches would be empty.
  • There is an old preacher story told of a new preacher who was called to Kentucky to serve as Pastor. The first Sunday he preached against alcohol.  The second Sunday he preached against tobacco.  The third Sunday he preached against gambling.  The fourth Sunday he was a visitor at another church.
  1. We too often are very vocal against whatever doesn’t apply to us or those around us.

    4. I am reminded of John 8:1 – 11 where a woman was caught in the very act of a sexual sin and dragged naked before Jesus for judgement. Jesus told them that the one among them who was without sin should cast the first stone.  None were sinless and they all walked away.  Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more.

    2. Christians need to be prepared to stand tall as Paul did and shout that “WE ARE NOT ASHAMED of the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST”
  2. Can a Christian be gay?
    1. Yes
    2. The same way a Christian can lie, cheat, gossip, backbite, be an addict, worship false gods, be greedy, be lazy, be arrogant, prideful and cold.
    3. Sin is sin and we are all dealing with sin.
    4. A Christian in any sin will be guided by the Holy Spirit back onto God’s path.

    5. Are there LGBTQ people in Bible Believing churches today?
      1. Yes
      2. They may not be open about their sexuality, but you can bet they are there
      3. You may not know they are there but they are there
      4. They hear our words and see our prejudice/hate/hypocrisy
      5. They understand God’s Word
      6. They are seeking Grace and Mercy, just as you are. Will they find it?
    6. Is this a new issue?
      1. Thousands of years old
      2. It will probably continue to be an issue for thousands more
    7. Understand we have no stone to throw but a command to “Go and share” and to love.
    8. Will I perform a LGBTQ wedding
      1. No
      2. I must do my best to be Biblically correct

Acts 5:27-32 “And the high priest questioned them, saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.  The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”  ESV
    9. My decision has nothing to do with hate or prejudice
    10. I will not condemn a same sex couple
      1. Even if I do not agree with their lifestyle
    11. There are many, many lifestyles I do not agree with and/or approve of in this world
      1. I do not have to participate
    12. The reality is that even in the heterosexual and Christian communities I turn down more weddings than I perform for a variety of reasons.
      1. Most people getting married have no clue what marriage is or what God expects from married couples
    13. I will gladly minster, listen to, help, guide and care for anyone who seeks my assistance regardless of their lifestyle or personal issues.
  3. I will seek to be a redemptive conduit of Jesus Christ.
    1. John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”    ESV

    2. I think that if that was God’s plan He would have already done this for all the other sins and failures of and in our country
      1. We have come a long way into darkness since our founders
      2. But, the reality is that our founders had sin in their lives as well
    3. I believe that God is giving us time to find salvation and turn towards Him
    4. We do not know how much time we have to accept Him and His love.
    5. One day we will come to a day of accountability, a day of Judgement

  • However God decides to call us to Him, we are called and encouraged to be ready.

    3. Are there options available for marriage?
      1. Right now a LGBTQ couple could be wed by a civil authority or a liberal clergy.
        1. In States that might approve.
      2. The contractual/legal marriage could be performed by the State.
        1. Some states are considering getting out of the wedding process completely.
      3. A ceremony in religious tradition could be performed by Clergy/churches without reporting/filing with state
        1. Pastor/Clergy are NOT agents of the State/government anyway
      4. Churches could stop doing any type of marriage/wedding ceremony.
    4. Is “Gay Marriage” the slippery slope into immorality?
      1. Maybe
      2. Already groups that advocate marriage to children, animals, siblings, etc, are saying they should have equal access.
      3. We will see
    5. Is this the end of the world and we should all panic and flee into the mountains and live in Christian Communes completely cut off from the rest of the world and wait for the rapture?
      1. No
      2. God is still God
      3. God is still Sovereign God
      4. God is in control
      5. He still loves us
        1. Yes, even those who are not like us
      6. His Son still paid the price for the sins of everyone who would believe
      7. God is still very much at work through all of this
      8. We are to continue to be His children
        1. Walking the right walk
        2. Talking the good talk

    1. The court has ruled marriage is genderless
    2. The legal system and the state will need to begin using the term marriage equally
    3. The churches will have to decide how they will handle this as a church and a denomination.
    4. Maybe we can now put the label away and stop making a huge deal out of these relationships

      2. The reality is that we don’t need to know your personal life in this much detail
