Parasites in a real world

par·a·site    noun \ˈper-ə-ˌsīt, ˈpa-rə-\   : an animal or plant that lives in or on another animal or plant and gets food or protection from it: a person or thing that takes something from someone or something else and does not do anything to earn it or deserve it

You are a Parasite

There is no getting around this reality, if it was not for the life of others you would not exist.

Babies depend on their parents for every basic need.  Food, Water, hygene, health care, shelter, etc.:  everything

As Babies mature into children they begin the process of separating themselves from their “host” to become more self sufficient.  But, while they may be able to feed themselves they have no means to buy or obtain food.  While they may occasionally clean their room or help with chores, children have no means to provide their own shelter, pay for water; neither do they understand what to do when they are sick.

Teens may be more mature and able to provide for some of their needs, they lack experience, maturity and income to be self supporting.

Adults depend on others for support, income and help.

Senior adults sometimes cycle back to a place of complete dependence due to disability.

Whatever phase of life we are in, we are all dependent on God to keep it all held together.

All of us have or will have times of great illness, pain, hurt or other issue that causes us to be very dependent upon others.  Hosts are there to help us through those times; but not to be taken advantage of though this process.

God is there to carry you through these dark valleys, but we are not to take advantage of His love Grace and Mercy.

We are parasites.

The moment we think we are not parasites, that we can somehow get through this life without God or other people, is usually the moment we begin to falter and come to realize just how desperate of a parasite we truly are in this world.

You are a host.

Once we leave the infant phase we begin to understand that we have a responsibility to contribute to our family, our community, our country and our world.

As children we sometimes rebel against this responsibility.  We scream and fuss and stomp our feet, “NO!”  this is when we begin to learn that there are consequences to our actions.  We are punished for our rebellion and lack of contribution.

We learn that our freedom comes with a price.

We learn the benefit of submission to authority.

We learn that our life is easier when we contribute.

We learn that we can help others.

We are given chores, we get a pet, we get a vehicle, we get married, we get a house, and the list goes on and on.

We learn that there is hard work behind what other people have and if we desire that lifestyle there is work to be done.

We help others with projects, on sports teams, with homework, in ministries and charities, in politics and in leadership.

We serve in our countries military or public safety service.

We help our neighbors.

We get married and come to realize that sometimes we are parasites and sometimes we are hosts; to our spouses and our children.

We gratefully become a host to people (parasties) in need out of our love and compassion.

We joyfully “stand in the gap” for someone who is unable to help themselves through a problem or issue.

We Glorify God by serving Him by serving others.

We give, teach, serve and lead in our houses of worship.

We become hosts, allowing others to depend on us for some period of time.

You are both a parasite and a host.  This is a good thing and very much a part of living in community.

Being a parasite is part of our life experience.  We are made to need God and need others.  We are built to live in God’s Community.

Being a host is not a bad thing.  Being abused by the parasite who takes advantage of our compassion hurts us deeply.

The problems begin to appear when we drain more life from our family or community than we allow ourselves to give.

When we become only parasites we can quickly drain all life out of our relationships, communities and countries.

We should seek to be stronger hosts and weaker parasites.

Sometimes, in order to be stronger hosts with a better ability to give, we must scrape a few leeches off; we need to cut loose those who are draining our lives without building anything into them.

The rest of this writing attempts to think through the various “Leeches” (Abusive parasites) in our world.  This was written as a thought project that God led me through to understand what is going on in a few specific areas of our world.

Parasites attach themselves to a host and suck the life out of it; then move to a new host when they have killed/dried out/decimated their existing host.

It has been reported that approximately 70% of the parasites in the human body are microscopic and cannot be seen by the human eye.  That is a bunch!  Not to mentions worms, leeches, ticks, fleas, etc that can be seen.  YUCH

In the days He walked the earth, Jesus constantly dealt with people who followed Him for what they could get from Him.  They wanted the food, the healing and the help; but they did not want to be bothered with anything else.  They sought to be close to Him, but worked hard to never really get to know Him.  Jesus did do many wonderful miracles during His time here, but they had a purpose beyond making us feel good.  They were to help us understand our need for Him, to believe in Him and to follow Him.  Unfortunately, most just wanted fed, and would neither accept any responsibility nor have any gratitude for what He was doing for them.  They were ungrateful Parasites.  They thought that Jesus existed to serve them, like a vending machine or a Santa Claus for everyday life.  They were wrong.

These parasites stayed close to Him while they were getting all the good stuff, but they fled when the government, religious leaders and the people turned against Him.  They were among the crowds yelling “Crucify Him!” while others were making tracks away from Him.  Even His closest followers and disciples denied knowing Him and ran away.  There were so very few of His followers present as He gave His last gasp of air for the forgiveness of our sins.

Parasites in our country

This same attitude has infested itself in our great country and is growing faster than mold in a flooded house.  Many, if not a majority, of American citizens think the government exists to serve them.  It does not.  We should serve our country, not be served.

  • Our country cannot afford to serve everybody
  • The benefits one American get have to be paid for by other Americans
  • Our founders fought, suffered and died for our country; most today do not want to give up a meal or their cell phone to help our country thrive.

o   Our founders willingly gave their fortunes to build a free America

  • We are to serve not be served.
  • President Kennedy told us to “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

o   What happened to this way of thinking?

  • We are to support not be supported.
  • We are not entitled to anything except life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
  • Why is it the responsibility of those who work to pay for the food, clothing, housing, shelter, education, cell phones, vehicles, health care, birth control and habits of those who refuse to work?

o   Again – Not referring to the very small percentage of our community who are unable to work/contribute in any way

  • The American people are NOT called to be “Santa Claus”

o   Welfare, Food Stamps, Free housing…and the like, ARE NOT Constitutional principles

  • States should have this responsibility if any government is involved
    • NOT the Federal Government

o   While I am thinking about this:  Marriage, abortion, health care, education, worker safety, environmental protection, and more ARE NOT in the Constitution…and By the Bill of Rights – Should be handled by the States

  • Christians people are never commanded to be providers to lazy people

o   Widows – yes

o   Orphans – sure

o   Those who are unable to contribute:  the truly disabled – sure, you bet

  • The reality is that these with true need are a small percentage of those who are receiving
    • The rest are parasites
    • The “Welfare Cadillac” class
  • We are to sacrifice for our country; not make our country sacrifice for us.
  • Parasites often live in houses nicer than most, drive newer cars than most, dress better than most:

o   yet use EBT/food stamps for food

o   They buy more and better food than others who work hard can afford

o   Are in lines at the welfare office

  • We have all seen them and shook our head
  • While there are a very few people out there that we should help, there are a great many who have become ungrateful Parasites.

o   Those that cannot work in any way, who are too weak to contribute must be helped.  They need help and a compassionate country should help.

  • The concepts of hard work, dedication, selflessness and honor have disappeared from our American norm.
  • We are selfish, not selfless.
  • We are greedy, not giving
  • We are criminals, stealing from each other.
  • We have created an entire majority class of slaves in our country.  Slaves dependent on the government to meet their daily needs – dependent on the giving of their neighbors for food, water, housing, phones, health care, transportation. Clothing and most everything else.
  • The real American citizen should not have to work to fund a parasites toys and habits
  • Real Americans work hard to support their families, provide for their future and enjoy the fruits of THEIR labor.

o   It is wrong for the government to steal their money and GIVE it to a parasite who could work, could contribute in some way, but CHOOSE to stay home….or work and don’t report it so they do not lose the money they are stealing.

Parasites in elected office

  • One form of parasite is the elected class

o   Those who use their position of service for their own personal gain – regardless of how their greed hurts others.

o   Those who use their position to make money from their PAC’s, election funds or “speaking fees”

o   Those who use their positions to solicit funds from industry, small business and wealthy donors

o   Those who grant political favors for their own personal gain

o   Those who use their “inside politics” information to their own personal gain.  (stocks, real estate, etc)

  • The dangerous part of the elected parasite is they have a morphing ability
    • After they have drained as much from their host as possible as an elected parasite (either the host rejects them or the host is unable to provide for their nourishment) this class of parasite can “morph” into a different class of parasite.

o   The Advisor Class – by latching on to a elected class parasite they can be fed a steady diet while doing little more than saying “do/don’t do that”

o   The Speaker Class – Telling others how they functioned as a elected parasite

o   The Ambassador Class – continue draining the host while representing the host on foreign soil.

o   The Lobbyist Class – This parasite is able to latch on to the elected parasite, the corporate parasite and the activist parasite simultaneously.

  • While most parasites are able to change hosts and perhaps morph into a new form of parasite, the elected class of parasite is especially adapted to morph quickly and successfully than other parasites.

Parasites working in our government offices

  • An almost invisible form of parasite sucking life from our country are the very employees of our government

o   Many governmental employees are good, hardworking people; but

  • There are those who seek to take as much from their position as they can
    • Big bonuses for doing their job, or messing up their job
    • Use their position to receive bribes, under the table payments or make back room deals for themselves
    • Use government (OUR) resources for their own personal good and gain

o   Equipment and material used on their personal property or their friends

  • Create rules and regulations just to show their bosses they are useful, important and doing something.  Seeking to justify their position.

o   Planning departments making tough subdivision rules with no real community good

o   EPA making tougher water quality standards just because the technology exists to measure them – regardless of whether they actually make water safer or not.

  • Employees on payroll that rarely, if ever, do any actual work for the benefit of their community
  • Those who use their position, the education and training provided by the government for their position or the power of their position to get a better, higher paying job in the private sector.
  • Those unions who try to suck every last drop of funding from government coffers; even though tax revenue is limited.

o   They are not the same as private companies with union employees

  • Parasites are sucking our country dry.

o   They are a heavy weight on our economy

o   They pull down communities

o   They are thieves, stealing from our citizenry

o   We have examples of what happens when the parasites outnumber the hosts

  • The community dies
    • Falling services
    • Urban blight
    • Huge debt
    • Hosts flee
    • Parasites are drawn in
    • Debt rises
    • Bankruptcy
    • High crime
    • Human suffering
    • Death

So many Americans have no knowledge, no understanding, of what our countries morals and character really.  We do not know the struggle of our founders.

Maybe, like the human body, most of the parasites go unseen by the very government (and the tax paying Americans) that are feeding them; while many are well known and completely visible.  YUCH

The result of this failure is that the giving of our neighbors who pay taxes can no longer keep up with the expenses of those who do not contribute.  The Parasites have sucked their host dry.  So our politicians chose to borrow the money to support the Parasites from other Americans and foreign interests; borrowed to the point of potential financial collapse.  The host will soon die because the Parasites have sucked every possible ounce of life from it and no strength remains.

How do we fix this?   I would guess much like a person in the swamp who has leaches deals with them –

SCRAPE THEM OFF – by the election process, the legislative process or the legal process

REMOVE THEIR FOOD SOURCE – Cut the funding they are feeding on

POUR SALT ON THEM – expose them to what they shrink away from and run from – PUBLIC

EXPOSURE OF THEIR PARASITICAL BEHAVIOR

This MUST BE DONE….before the host is dead and they move on.

  • Those who can do something, must do something
  • Those who can contribute in any way, must do so
  • Those who have means to live must use those means to live.

1 Thessalonians 3: 6 – 16   6-9 Our orders—backed up by the Master, Jesus—are to refuse to have anything to do with those among you who are lazy and refuse to work the way we taught you. Don’t permit them to freeload on the rest. We showed you how to pull your weight when we were with you, so get on with it. We didn’t sit around on our hands expecting others to take care of us. In fact, we worked our fingers to the bone, up half the night moonlighting so you wouldn’t be burdened with taking care of us. And it wasn’t because we didn’t have a right to your support; we did. We simply wanted to provide an example of diligence, hoping it would prove contagious.  10-13 Don’t you remember the rule we had when we lived with you? “If you don’t work, you don’t eat.” And now we’re getting reports that a bunch of lazy good-for-nothings are taking advantage of you. This must not be tolerated. We command them to get to work immediately—no excuses, no arguments—and earn their own keep. Friends, don’t slack off in doing your duty.  14-15 If anyone refuses to obey our clear command written in this letter, don’t let him get by with it. Point out such a person and refuse to subsidize his freeloading. Maybe then he’ll think twice. But don’t treat him as an enemy. Sit him down and talk about the problem as someone who cares.  16 May the Master of Peace himself give you the gift of getting along with each other at all times, in all ways. May the Master be truly among you!     The Message

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can spend the most money in their district

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can get the most and best free stuff for the Parasites in their district

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can get the highest tenure, committee chair or power

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can get the most special interest money in their pockets

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can get their way the higher percent of the time

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can do the most damage to the Constitution

Government politicians are not in a contest to see who can trash the most lives
